A memoir like you've never read before and not for the faint of heart. This book recounts the sweet and sometimes heartbreaking story of one couples' attempt at raising a pig to slaughter. Showcasing the charisma and intelligence of a very personable pig, the author details with grace and humor the trials and rewards of raising and slaughtering this same pig in her own backyard. Touching on the timely issues of food safety and animal welfare, this book delicately balances the scales of one woman's desire to eat pork against her wish for healthy and humanely raised meat, while explaining how, along the way, the experience changed her idea of how we should treat the animals who end up on our plates.
Today’s dynamic wine culture calls for a different kind of wine book. The Wine Savant is just that: punchy, polemical, and brimming with insights to educate and entertain beginning wine drinkers and seasoned oenophiles alike.

The impetus for this cookbook is mainly chicken. But while a turkey is not a chicken, who's keeping score that closely? As a result I have included numerous turkey dishes among the recipes. In addition there a number of seafood recipes that add a bit of diversity. Of course if you are privy to some of the more exotic bird life, they should do just as well. Where a recipe calls for ground turkey, ground chicken may be substituted, if available. And real bacon can be substituted for the turkey "bacon" where it is used. But that would be defeating the no-red-meat concept.
Eboni Stiles thought Simon Blackcat was a walking, talking mass of perfectly packaged testosterone trouble. She made it a point to stay as far away from him as possible. Especially after that one night, she lost her mind and slept with him. One night with Eboni was not enough for Simon, not even close. So when Eboni's life was in danger, he was the only man he trusted to protect her. Because those chasing her would have to kill him to get to her, and Blackcat did not die easily. A Guardian Agency Novel can be read as a stand-alone.
